The Decatur Arts Alliance and the Decatur Land Trust partnered with the Georgia Center for the Book and the Decatur Library to present a powerful art show, “HOME v.1: Gimme Shelter — Redefining and Reimagining the Place we call ‘Home.’ ” The exhibit was installed in the Fourth Floor Gallery from July 10th — August 16th. Every year, a list of books representing the literary heritage of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands is distributed by the Library of Congress’s Center for the Book during the National Book Festival. For 2025, states picked both a Young Readers’ Selection and an Adult Readers’ Selection. The Young Reader’s Selection is The Peanut Man by Carmen Deedy.
